Giacomo Leopardi
Vi proponiamo una delle più belle poesie scritte dal famosissimo scrittore Giacomo Leopardi nato a Recanati nel 1798. L'infinito è sicuramente una delle sue poesie più profonde e riflessive.
« Sempre caro mi fu quest'ermo colle,
e questa siepe, che da tanta parte
dell'ultimo orizzonte il guardo esclude.
Ma sedendo e mirando, interminati
spazi di là da quella, e sovrumani
silenzi, e profondissima quiete
io nel pensier mi fingo, ove per poco
il cor non si spaura. E come il vento
odo stormir tra queste piante, io quello
infinito silenzio a questa voce
vo comparando: e mi sovvien l'eterno,
e le morte stagioni, e la presente
e viva, e il suon di lei. Così tra questa
immensità s'annega il pensier mio:
e il naufragar m'è dolce in questo mare. »

"L'infinito" was composed in 1819 and it's a testimony of the disagreement between ending and infinity, that characterises a romantic man. The poem describes the poet only on the bridge of Tabor in Recanati.
The bush represents a barrier between the world and the thoughts of the poet. This is the symbol of everything that is limiting and limited, therefore it stimulates the imagination and intuition needed, that is right for every man, for the infinity. Observing the horizon, he imagines endless spaces beyond this bush.

L’infinito è uno dei più noti idilli leopardiani, fu composto nel 1819 ed è una testimonianza di quel dissidio tra finito ed infinito, tra realtà e ideale, che caratterizza l’uomo romantico.
La poesia descrive il poeta solo sul monte Tabor a Recanati. La siepe rappresenta dunque una barriera tra il mondo esterno e i pensieri del poeta. Essa è il simbolo di tutto ciò che è limitante e limitato e quindi stimola l’immaginazione e l’istintivo bisogno, proprio di ogni uomo, di infinito. Stando seduto a osservare, egli immagina spazi interminabili oltre la siepe.
